Toby spent another frustrating day bent over the electronics. Saturday is a bad day for things to go horribly wrong as you can't get hold of anybody to fix them, with the exception of Jo Mawby (ex Sailability) who manged to locate a Martin16 which has a similar control system. The problem is a more fundamental one, however, involving the circuit board that Steve Alvey developed especially for me. We are hoping that we can get hold of him in Canada on Monday.
On the brighter side Mike went swimming whilst trying to fit D-defenders to the RIB to prevent the SUB doing any more damage to "Me too". He didn't get an awful lot of sympathy, but it made everone feel better nevertheless.
Martin Cox turned up this morning from Westbere Sailing Opportunities and made himself popular immediatly by playing Helen's travel guitar better than anybody else in camp. Mike took him out on the RIB for some basic driving lessons and everyone seems happy that we will be able to go sailing if only we can fix the electronics. Berthon Marina continue to be both incredibly supportive and understanding. We are not the only boat pinned in by the weather and/or systems problems but there is never any pressure put on us to give a leaving date and they have coped with our gypsy campsite without complaint. We really can't thank them enough.
