It's looking as if Friday might be a good day to go. The forecast for tomorrow is strong winds from the west and southwest. However it should calm down overnight, so we are all keeping our fingers, toes (and any other appropriate parts) crossed! :-)
Jo from "Yachting Monthly" appeared, as she had threatened, with camera and took some nice shots of the boat and some not so nice ones with me in which she has generously given us. Martin Cox got some good shots of the boat actually sailing on Sunday, more pictures will be comming to the website of the boat sailing soon!!!
Richard Russell came over to check on the progress of the new cable. He didn't come empty handed; from his pocket he produced a gortex membrane which will help stop salt water getting in throught the waterproof seals. From various other pockets he then produced the correct sized drill bit, tap and all the paraphanalia needed to insert the new membrane. He then watched over to make sure that everything was done properly.
Tomorrow (Thursday) is Helen's birthday. She had said that she wanted to be in Portland for her birthday - getting there in time for the Moth World Championships will have to do. It's predicted to be extremely windy (force 8-9) so even they may be blown out.
