5 May 2009 - Back at Hawthorn Farm

It's Tuesday evening we've been at Hawthorn Farm for 6 days, (thanks for having us AGAIN guys!) Toby, Jo, Hew, Lotti (my Dog) & I moved in to our new (and old) quarters very late Thursday night. After a couple of gliches (things falling from the cieling & an outside door that wouldn't shut) we managed to get our first nights sleep.

Simon & Terry turned up on Friday. Simon seems to have got the RIB under his belt in no time. You would think that this would mean one LESS thing to worry about, but he keeps coming up with lists of jobs that need doing...... He's already moved in to the landy on the grounds that it's the only place where somebody's snoring doesn't keep him awake. Hew is considering getting a cattle prod (or perhaps a taser gun & Jo is finding ear plugs a God send.)
Terry has proved to be a master chef (and chief hole fixer on landy & sea) so we are eating like kings & queens, despite the budget. We have now finally found him somewhere that he can also get a decent nights sleep.

Hew has a cracking sense of humour & is a wizz with electronics, so Toby has someone to play with. On his first expedition to the RIB he was wished the best of luck by a Seagull, who then sat & laughed at him. He now wants to know if it's possible to get ASBO's taken out against the offending bird? :-)
Toby's had his nose in the Canadian electronics with Hew; has improved his media handling skills & has generally been running around somewhat in the manner of a headless chicken, but one that seems to know what it's doing.

Paul has been on a canal trip with his CAMRA buddies, so missed the first few days of bonding. As a result the whole team were all very pleased to hear that he had fallen in! He's here now and definitly putting his organisational skills to good use and is, as ever, doing a fantastic job liasing with The Lions.

Jo, ever the surprise is just about managing to drag me out of bed in the mornings & has turned out to be a fab typist, so I'd better not say anything about the 'Loo Song', showers (generally & specific) or pooper scooping which is definitly her least favorite job. This years most frequently heard phrase thus far has changed from "Get a bigger boat woman" to "We're gonna need a bigger pooper scooper!"

Mean while, I seem to be doing remarkably little except trying to keep track of everything, eat, sleep & laugh 'til I cry.
